60.71 Billion project launched in Bamenda North West Region of Cameroon

The minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Gabriel Mbairobe in August 2024 launched the Emergency Development Food Crisis Response Project known in French as (PULCCA). 

The PULCCA aims to urgently address the mitigation of the short-term impacts of food and nutrition insecurity, as well as its medium-term drivers, to strengthen economic, climate, and community resilience

 Pulcca with head office in limbe South West Region is fruits of cooperation between the Government of Cameroon and the World Bank. Funded to the tune of 60.76 billion FCFA, the project will go a long way to benefit 265,490 Cameroonian estimated to be affected by food insecurity, as well as 159,000 farmer, breeders and fishermen. Pulcca aims to target 6 Regions Far North,North,Adamawa, East,North West, and South West. 

Speaking during the launched the minister called on the implementing partners, World Food Program (WFP), the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO), Regional Development Authorities, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Minader)and the ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries (Minepia) to put all hand on deck to insure the effective implementation of the project in all the regions. This project is slated to run for a period of 3 years.
