KEY HIGHLIGHTS

1. The floods that occurred at the end of 2024 in the onionproducing regions of the Far North led to a widespread increase in the price of this product across the country compared to the previous year.

2. The abundant availability of peanuts in the markets of the North, the main supply source, resulted in a price drop during the same period compared to previous years, particularly in the Adamaoua and East regions. This trend is also observed for white and yellow maize.
In Poli, specifically, the price of a 100 kg bag of maize stabilized around 14,000 FCFA.

3. In the Far North, North, and North-West regions, the price per kilogram of locally milled rice is roughly equivalent to that of imported 100% broken rice, reducing the incentive to choose one over the other.

4. The price of red palm oil per liter was higher thaninternational prices in the Far North, Adamaoua, and East regions.
