SUMMARY
Climate forecasts from August to November 2026 indicate an overall decrease in rainfall amounts in the bimodal rainforest zone
(Centre, East and South regions). However, heavy rainfall is expected in August, September and October in the monomodal rainforest
zone (Littoral and South-West regions) and the Western Highlands zone (West and North-West regions).
Onset dates of the long rainy season, between:
\u25aa 17 and 29 August 2026<\/strong> in the South region, the southern parts of the Centre region (Nyong-Et-Kelle, Nyong-Et-So\u2019o, Nyong-Et-Mfoumou and Mefou-Et-
Akono divisions), and the southern part of the East region (Haut-Nyong and Boumba-et-Ngoko divisions);
\u25aa 23 and 29 August 2026<\/strong> in the central and northern parts of the Centre region (Mfoundi, Lekie, Mefou-Et-Afamba, Haute-Sanaga, Mbam-Et-Inoubou,
Mbam-Et-Kim divisions, and the northern parts of Nyong-Et-Kelle, Nyong-Et-Mfoumou, Mefou-Et-Akono and the north-eastern part of Nyong-Et-So\u2019o),
the East Region (Kadey, Lom and Djerem divisions, and the northern parts of Haut-Nyong and Boumba-Et-Ngoko), and the south-eastern part of the West
Region in the Noun division (Massangam)
Effective onset of the rainy season:
\u25aa In the northern part of the East region (Garoua Boula\u00ef, Bagbel, Mbitom, Kongolo, Bongon, Bodomo, etc.), the South region (Kribi, Londji, etc.), and the
Centre region (Ngambe Tikar, Sangbe, Ndipain, Makenene, Yoko, Matomb, etc.);
\u25aa In the Western Highlands (North-West and West regions, except in the south-eastern part of the Noun division);
\u25aa In the monomodal rainforest zone (Littoral and South-West regions).
Proposed dates for the effective onset of sowing, between :
